Secrets of the Occult

Secrets of the Occult explores the world of the occult from the ancient and modern magicians who practice it to the cutting edge scientists attempting to explain its mysterious claims. This program highlights the advances that have been achieved by innovators who challenged established reality like Newton, Galileo, Carl Jung and Einstein. The claims of the occult magicians are put under the microscope to reveal the fascinating interface between ancient Egyptian and Greek beliefs to modern discoveries of the mind and the physical world. The Magicians & The Scientists Secrets of the Occult DVD Extras explores the fascinating interface between occult beliefs and modern discoveries of the mind and the physical world. Experts speak on a range of topics from the function of magic to the beginning of mysticism. Dreams and the Collective Unconscious, a 21st Century Perspective, and many more subjects related to the first magicians and modern scientists who unravel the mysteries of our world are included.

The Disclosure Project

On that historic Wednesday - May 9, 2001 - over 20 military, intelligence, government, corporate and scientific witnesses came forward at the National Press Club in Washington DC to establish the reality of UFOs or extraterrestrial vehicles, extraterrestrial life forms and the resulting advanced energy and propulsion technologies. The weight of this first-hand testimony, along with supporting government documentation and other evidence, will establish without any doubt the reality of these phenomena. Over 1 billion people heard of the press conference through webcast and subsequent media coverage on BBC, CNN, CNN Worldwide, Voice of America, Pravda, Chinese media, and media outlets throughout Latin America. The webcast has 250,000 people waiting online-the largest webcast in the history of the National Press Club. The disclosure of the truth will have far-reaching implications for our society - new technologies to end pollution and global warming, long-term solutions to the energy crisis and the beginning of an era of peaceful relations with other civilizations in space. We have over 450 government, military, and intelligence community witnesses testifying to their direct, personal first hand experience with UFOs, ETs, ET technology and the cover-up that keeps this information secret.

Area 51

In southern Nevada, there exists a 575 square mile block of land that goes by many names: The Box, Paradise Ranch, Groom Lake, Watertown Strip and Dreamland. But most refer to this mysterious region as Area 51. Since the late 1950’s the skies above Dreamland have been home to an array of unidentified flying objects. Locals here know that sightings of curios lights and other unexplained phenomena are commonplace. In 1989, the revelations of Bob lazar, a Las Vegas resident, brought the strange goings-on at Area 51 to a national audience. He claimed to have amazing inside information on the stark terrain 90 miles north of Las Vegas. Known as Area 51, this outpost is one of the most mysterious locations on the face of the earth, and, until recently, the US government even denied its existence. Lazar wasn’t the first to claim that something out of the ordinary was happening at Area 51. Rumors about UFO sightings in the Nevada desert had been spreading for years. For those who defend Lazar, his accounts of testing UFO’s explains the extreme security over the military base. Those who discount his revelations believe there is a more plausible reason why the government had been keeping the activities at Area 51 from the general public arguing that the base houses cutting edge military aviation technology. Frequent sightings of these advanced planes may have been the source of the UFO sightings and experts assert that the government may have perpetuated these theories to disguise the their real activities.

The Wisdom of the Dream

First in a three-part series of films produced by PBS, on the life and works of the great thinker and psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung. Part one provides an overview of the major contributions made by Jung in his long career. Born on July 26, 1875, in Switzerland, Jung became interested in psychiatry during his medical studies. He saw that the minds of mentally deranged persons had similar contents, much of which he recognized from his own interior life, described in his autobiography Memories, Dreams, Reflections. His lifelong quest to understand the workings of the psyche led him to develop the analytical method of psychiatry. He proceeded by looking at the role in his patients' lives of what he termed the personal and collective unconscious, as expressed through dreams, myths, and outer events. With film clips, photographs, and interviews with some of his colleagues, as well as with Jung himself, the story of one of the most important figures of the 20th century is told. Inheritance of Dreams looks at the collective myths that are shared by different cultures and races throughout the world. Jung saw these as evidence of an underlying unifying principle in the human psyche, which he termed archetypes. These archetypes are present in the collective unconscious and express themselves to the individual in dreams and synchronistic events. The film surveys some of the archetypal symbolism in world myths. Jungian analyst John Beebe uses the science fiction film Star Wars to illustrate the presence of the ancient myths in today's symbolic expressions. There is rare footage of Jung's travels to Africa, England, and New Mexico, in search of archetypal motifs. The third episode examines some interesting archetypal images expressed in modern imagery. The film takes the viewer through a diverse range of sources, from Alcoholics Anonymous and science fiction films, to modern architecture and the stock market. There are interviews with Jungian analysts including Aniela Jaffe, Jane Wheelwright, James Hillman, and Adolf Guggenbuhl-Craig. Dr. Harry Wilmer shares his work with the dreams and "healing nightmares" of Vietnam veterans. New Age philosophy and Alfred Hitchcock's film Notorious are discussed as they relate to Jungian psychology.

The Doomsday Code

What is the real source of these ideas that so many people attribute to the book of Revelation? Whoever wrote it sheltered in a cave on the Greek island of Patmos, probably a refugee from Roman occupied Palestine. He is also likely to have consumed the local hallucinogenic magic mushrooms. So rather than taking these bizarre visions literally, it might make more sense to try to understand them in their historical context. There are some 40 apocalyptic books from this era but this was the only one that made it into the Bible. If the author was writing about the hated Roman Empire, it could be that the seven heads of the beast meant the seven emperors. The mark of the beast could be the head of the emperor on the coins. The dreaded 666 very likely represented three letters indicating the Emperor Nero – representing letters by numbers was, and is, common in Hebrew. If so, instead of being a description of a world in chaos, it could be seen as a book of morality, optimism and faith. Let's hope the End Timers start to see it like that before their actions really do bring about the end of the world.

Black Box UFO Secrets

Since the earliest years of man flight, pilots and astronauts from around the world have encountered UFOs high in our skies and beyond. The History Channel's Black Box UFO Secrets reveals for the first time the cockpit and control tower audio recordings of pilot and astronaut confrontations and sightings of unidentified flying objects high in our skies. From a detailed account of one of the very the first reported pilot case - the Arnold case in 1947 - to recent recordings over New England and Texas and NASA recordings and video from 2005, the programme features interviews with pilots, witness and experts, including UCLA's Joseph Nagy, actor Ed Asner, and pilot/UFO researcher Don Berliner.

Underworld: Flooded Kingdoms of the Ice Age

Between 17,000 years ago and 7000 years ago, at the end of the last Ice Age, terrible things happened to the world our ancestors lived in. Great ice caps over northern Europe and north America melted down, huge floods ripped across the earth, sea-level rose by more than 100 metres, and about 25 million square kilometres of formerly habitable lands were swallowed up by the waves. Marine archaeology has been possible as a scholarly discipline for about 50 years - since the introduction of scuba. In that time, according to Nick Flemming, the doyen of British marine archaeology, only 500 submerged sites have been found worldwide containing the remains of any form of man-made structure or of lithic artifacts. Of these sites only 100 - that's 100 in the whole world! - are more than 3000 years old. This is not because of a shortage of potential sites. It is at least partly because a large share of the limited funds available for marine archaeology goes into the discovery and excavation of shipwrecks. This leaves a shortage of diving archaeologists interested in underwater structures and a shortage of money to pay for the extremely expensive business of searching - possibly fruitlessly - for very ancient, eroded, silt-covered ruins at great depths under water. Moreover, with the recent exception of Bob Ballard's survey of the Black Sea for the National Geographic Society, marine archaeology has simply not concerned itself with the possibility that the post-glacial floods might in any way be connected to the problem of the rise of civilizations
